After I had such a great morning at Easy Street Park I couldn't resist another visit a couple days later. It was to be another clear sunny morning so I arrived again before sunrise with the hopes of some different species and maybe a closer view of the Pied-billed Grebe. I was not to be disappointed when right at first light the grebe swam in incredibly close and gave me ample opportunity for a variety of photos. Shortly after the grebe swam away a Tricolored Heron showed up and put on one of the most amazing shows directly in front of me! They are one of my favorite herons with incredibly striking plumage and a very active hunting style. This bird moved all around me but stayed put in the one corner. I was able to get full body shots, close stalking shots, head shots and tons of splashing action. It was incredible and a morning I will not soon forget.
