Join me in photographing the wide variety of wintering waterfowl and shorebirds at the Barnegat Light jetty and beach. It's a cold and usually windy place to be but you can find such a variety of birds concentrated along the jetty here that can be tough to find anywhere else, most famously the Harlequin Duck!
Join me to photograph the normally elusive Wood Duck at a location where they are numerous and very friendly. The Wood Ducks of Wissahickon Creek are generally habituated to people and will allow you to get very close to them. The males are one of the most beautiful and colorful ducks found in the area and watching the group that lives here can be very entertaining.
Do you wish to take your bird photography beyond capturing standard portraits of birds? This is the workshop to discover and learn how to do just that. Join me for 3 days of bird photography focusing on how to create unique bird photos that instill emotion, tell a story and are worthy of hanging on your wall.
Join me to photograph this wonderful group of yellow colored warblers including Pine, Prothonotary and Prairie Warblers. We will spend the morning in the swamps and pine forests of southern/central New Jersey where these beautiful birds love to hang out.
Join me to photograph the interesting and unique American Oystercatchers and other shorebirds that inhabit the beaches of Stone Harbor Point. We will spend time trying to zero in on the Oystercatchers all while additional shorebirds move around us and usually come rather close.
Learn how to capture sharp bird-in-flight photos or improve upon your existing bird-in-flight skills. You will have plenty of practice at the Ocean City, NJ Welcome Center Heron Rookery with both Black and Yellow-crowned Night Herons flying all around you. The Welcome Center provides an easily accessed and comfortable location to view and photograph hundreds of Night Herons nesting at near eye level.
Come hang out at the Delaware Bayshore in southern New Jersey with me and tons of Seaside Sparrows and other Marsh Birds including Marsh Wrens, Red-winged Blackbirds, Clapper Rails, occasional Osprey and Bald Eagle flyovers and some other wading shorebirds. The stars of the show however will be the Seaside Sparrows.
Join me to photograph Egrets and a variety of other shorebirds as they migrate south for the winter. This location is a prime stopover for shorebirds and a simply beautiful location to photograph them in. With bright green grasses and wide open spaces the lighting can be incredible here.
Join me to spend a morning photographing these interesting and silly critters in and around a pond at Palmyra Cove Nature Park. There is one particular pond aptly named "Bullfrog Pond" that contains hundreds of frogs of all sizes and a few species as well. With some patience we will get a chance to photograph them surfacing in the water as well as crawling around on the shoreline. More info...
Spend a morning along the central New Jersey coast photographing the adorable Piping Plover. We will be attempting to time our visit to coincide with the hatching of the chicks but this cannot be guaranteed. You will definitely see adult Piping Plovers which are still a blast to photograph but hopefully the tiny chicks will be running all around you as well!
